Screenwriter

For Patricio “Pato” Saiz (1973), the most important thing is to tell stories that move people.

He has worked on some of the films and series that have become audience favourites, such as Nosotros los Nobles, Cómo Cortar a tu Patán, Run Coyote Run, etc. His characters and universes have been adapted in other countries, such as Chasing Life, Belli di Papa, or Malcriados. He has also earned recognition and awards, such as an Ariel nomination, and co-wrote with Jean Claude Carriere, the legendary screenwriter for Luis Buñuel. His specialty is writing in specific genres such as Comedy, Horror, Thriller, etc. . He studied Industrial Engineering at UNAM, screenwriting at the CCC, and took the first Imcine/UCLA series writing workshop with Jackie Zambrano.

He is a renowned teacher and workshop leader at the leading film schools in and outside Mexico. Year after year, he is invited as a juror or commission member for Mexico’s most important production or screenwriting grants. He is one of the founding members of Entrelíneas.
